Photos taken in 2023 have resurfaced online, showing the slope protection project implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along the Bukidnon-Davao Road near Overview Park in Quezon, Bukidnon—the same area hit by a deadly landslide last weekend. The images reveal a large wall of gabions constructed to reinforce the slope. However, this structure collapsed during the landslide, which buried a vehicle and a couple missing.
