With the rise of Alex Eala, tennis has never been more popular in the Philippines, and Cagayan de Oro’s rising tennis sensation Francine Wong is proving that the country’s next generation of players has plenty of promise. The 13-year-old continued her impressive run by capturing both the girls’ 14-and-under and 16-and-under titles at the Mayor Edwin Olivarez Juniors Age Group Tennis Championships in Parañaque City, after completing another two-title sweep at the San Pablo City Juniors Age Group Championships in Laguna, where she emerged as the tournament’s lone double champion. Wong was also named MVP in both tournaments, highlighting her remarkable form and consistency and further strengthening her credentials as one of the Philippines’ most promising young tennis players.
