Three young tennis players from Northern Mindanao are currently ranked #1 in their respective age group category by the Philippine Tennis Association (PhilTA). Cagayan de Oro’s Kian John Sanchez is the country’s top player in boys 16 years old and under. Kyle Mozart Ramos from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon is No. 1 in boys 12 years old while Francine Madeleine Wong from Cagayan de Oro City is ranked No. 1 in girls 12 year and under age group. The region’s future in tennis is bright.

By the way, just recently, Francine Madeleine Wong was declared champion in the United States Tennis Association 10 Under Junior Circuit Competition held last June 25, 2023 at Great Parks Tennois Center in Irvine, California.
