Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Representative Rufus B. Rodriguez has secured the commitment of DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan to support vital infrastructure projects for the city. In a recent meeting at the Batasan, Congressman Rodriguez formally submitted his requests for funding to be included in the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) 2026 budget, with Secretary Bonoan assuring his full backing for the proposed initiatives.
The projects are as follows:
Bridges
- Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) Project – Gusa Flyover (P3.9 billion)
- Macasandig-Macanhan-Manresa Bridge and Access Road (P4.17 billion)
- Kalambaguhan-Vamenta Bridge and Access Road (P4.8 billion)
- Kauswagan-Consolacion Bridge and Access Road (P3.8 billion)
Viaduct and Diversion Road Projects
- Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road (Gusa-Puerto section)
- Masterson Avenue Alternate Diversion Road
Cong. Rufus gave emphasis to the Gusa Flyover project to ease congestion in the area by addressing the major bottleneck problem and improving accessibility, especially in emergency situations.
Secretary Bonoan committed to include said requests in the FY 2026 DPWH budget and propose the same for international funding. Cong. Rufus thanked Sec. Bonoan for his commitment on the said projects.
