With coffee demand rising both in the Philippines and worldwide, Bukidnon is setting its sights on becoming the country’s Arabica capital by 2035. Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque revealed that the province is rolling out plans to expand production, uplift farmers’ income, strengthen its coffee branding, and gear up for export opportunities. The announcement came during the recent presentation of the Bukidnon Coffee Industry Roadmap in Malaybalay City, which outlines the province’s long-term strategy for the booming coffee industry.
Shown below is a March 2025 workshop in Malaybalay City wherein the Bukidnon Consortium of Coffee Cooperatives and Associations (BCCCA) is leading plans to plant 500 hectares of Arabica this year and strengthen ties with industry partners.
Through this initiative, the provincial government is showing its strong support for local coffee growers, aiming to create more sustainable and fair opportunities for the community.
