Two seaports in Misamis Oriental are part of the Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. The PPA aims to transfer the management of the Balingoan and Jasaan ports to private operators this year, along with eight other ports in Luzon and Mindanao. This initiative is part of the government’s push to leverage private sector resources for infrastructure development and management. Feasibility studies for the Mindanao ports have already been completed.
