VIDEO WATCH: 2 dead, 3 injured in Toyota Hilux and Trailer truck head-on collision in El Salvador City

Two students died on the spot, and three others were seriously injured when their Toyota Hilux collided head-on with a trailer truck along the National Highway in Taytay, El Salvador City, just before noon today, November 4. Initial investigations indicate the victims are believed to be students of La Salle Academy in Iligan City, as they were still in their school uniforms at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, the truck driver sustained only minor injuries. Watch these videos below showing footage from the rescue operations.

Police have now confirmed that all victims were minor and junior high school students of La Salle Academy in Iligan.

UPDATE: The victims were identified as follows:

  • Limpao, Hakim – injured
  • Hadji Salam, Khalid – injured
  • Mangandog, Mohammad – injured
  • Umpat, Mohammad-Binmuhaimen – dead on the spot
  • Usman, Mahzoni – dead on the spot

PRESS RELEASE | Road Crash Incident

November 4, 2024

This pertains to the recent road crash incident involving a trailer truck and a Toyota pickup on November 4, 2024, at approximately 10:30 AM, in Zone-7, Taytay National Highway, El Salvador City.

The incident resulted in two fatalities, physical injuries, and damage to property.

As of this report, two fatalities have been confirmed: the driver and one passenger of the Toyota pickup. Three other individuals remain hospitalized as their medical conditions are being evaluated. Additionally, the driver of the trailer truck sustained a physical injury.

We encourage everyone to refrain from spreading unverified information about the status of the victims to prevent misinformation, especially among the victims’ families.

We also urge the public to prioritize road safety and remain vigilant, especially for pedestrians. Always drive at a safe speed.
