CRIME WATCH: Husband accused of running over wife in CDO faces parricide charge

A 36-year-old husband identified as Paul Christian Roque, is facing a parricide charge after allegedly running over and killing his 28-year-old wife, Ivy Berjame Tingson, with their gray Toyota Vios at around 5:30 a.m. on September 3 along RN Pelaez Boulevard near San Nicolas Street in Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City. According to the initial police report, the couple had an argument before Tingson left and booked an online motorcycle ride. Roque allegedly followed her and deliberately rammed the vehicle into her, causing fatal injuries. Jeric Cantago, the motorcycle rider she had booked, was also critically injured in the collision. The vehicle reportedly went on to hit a parked red Hyundai Eon and a roadside store. Roque later surrendered to authorities. Reports that he had previously lost his government job after allegedly failing two drug tests and had recently undergone rehabilitation have not been independently confirmed by authorities.

The remains of Tingson, a radiologic technologist at Northeastern Misamis General Hospital (NMGH) in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, were brought to her hometown of Butuan City.

The vehicle also crashed into a fruit stand and a parked Hyundai Eon.

Roque fled the scene and returned to his nearby residence before later surrendering to police.
