The PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority, in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard, inaugurated the Macajalar Bay Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) on August 5, 2026, at the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. The new system will enhance vessel monitoring, improve navigational safety, and streamline traffic management in Macajalar Bay, supporting the operations of the Mindanao Container Terminal. PHIVIDEC Administrator/CEO Atty. Joseph Donato J. Bernedo described the VTMS as a long-term investment in safety, security, efficiency, and investor confidence that will strengthen Northern Mindanao’s maritime operations, trade, and economic competitiveness.
