Cagayan de Oro’s startup ecosystem recorded a strong 20.7% growth rate in 2025, highlighting its sustained expansion and increasing momentum despite changes in global and regional standings. In StartupBlink’s 2026 Global Startup Ecosystem Index, the city ranked 711th globally, securing a spot among the world’s top 1,000 startup ecosystems. It also maintained its position as the fourth-strongest startup ecosystem in the Philippines. Meanwhile, Iligan City entered the rankings for the first time, placing 927th worldwide and emerging as the country’s seventh-ranked startup ecosystem.
With 39 startups accounting for around 5% of the country’s total, Cagayan de Oro remains one of the Philippines’ emerging startup hubs. The city averages about nine startups per 100,000 residents and, despite slipping in recent rankings, recorded a robust 20.7% ecosystem growth rate in 2025.
