A whirlwind was captured on video by netizen Marlo Tomonglay as it formed along a hilly area in Barangay Aposkahoy, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, last Friday, June 19. The phenomenon carried debris and vegetation into the air as it moved across the area. Residents initially thought it was rain or smoke until they noticed plants and other materials suddenly swirling in the air. No injuries or property damage were reported following the incident. A whirlwind is a rotating column of air that typically forms when warm air rises rapidly due to uneven heating of the ground, causing air near the surface to spin.
