New ₱12 million sterilized milk processing facility starts operations in El Salvador City

A ₱12-million sterilized milk processing facility funded by the National Dairy Authority (NDA) was recently put into trial operation at the El Salvador City processing plant under the Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Farmers (NMFDC), upgrading its existing pasteurization system. Equipped with chilling tanks and a blast freezer, the facility extends milk shelf life up to six months and enables supply to government milk feeding programs of the Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The initiative aims to strengthen dairy farmers’ capacity and ensure long-term industry sustainability.
