PROJECT WATCH: Camigreen Solar Power Plant now rising in Camiguin

Construction of Camiguin’s first-ever solar power plant is now underway. Developed by Camigreen, Inc., the 4.5 MWp facility is located in Barangay Liong, Guinsiliban along the Camiguin Circumferential Road. The project is designed to supply embedded clean energy to Camiguin Electric Cooperative (CAMELCO), generate more livelihood opportunities, and promote sustainable development in the community. Notably, it is the first renewable energy facility in the Philippines to be fully compliant with the Embedded Generation Facility–Lease-to-Own (EGF–LTO) framework.

Shown below is an aerial view of the project site, covering roughly 2.8 hectares. Note ongoing civil works.
