The trio of Juan Paulo Fermin, Ian Malacaman, and Honey Gilles—three outstanding pickleball players from Cagayan de Oro—helped Team Philippines’ Pickle Yard secure 3rd place at the recently concluded Pickleball Champions League (PCL) Asia Tournament in Shenzhen, China. Pickle Yard bowed to eventual champions Team Zhuhai of China in the semifinals. PCL Asia, the region’s largest pickleball league, brought together top players from 27 elite clubs across Asia.
Pickle Yard lost to Zhuhai, 18-20, 17-21, 21-19, 15-21.
