Two former Department of Agriculture (DA) officials were convicted by the Sandiganbayan for graft over the irregular 2004 purchase of ₱3.9 million worth of liquid fertilizer for Camiguin. Former DA Regional Technical Director Joel S. Rudinas and former accountant Claudia B. Artazo were found guilty beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced to 6 years and 1 month to 8 years in prison, perpetually disqualified from holding public office, and ordered to jointly pay ₱3.9 million with 6% annual interest. Meanwhile, six other co-accused remain at large.
