RANDOM SHOTS: Bagyangon Falls – Bukidnon’s misty hidden gem

Looking for a quick nature escape? Bagyangon Falls in Malitbog, Bukidnon is a must-visit spot for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Found in Sitio Bagyangon, Barangay San Luis, this breathtaking waterfall is one of Northern Mindanao’s hidden treasures. Just 8.5 kilometers from Malitbog’s town proper, the falls drop about 150 meters into a natural, chest-deep pool — perfect for a refreshing dip. The mist rising from the powerful cascade adds a cool, magical vibe to the place.

Bagyangon Falls is easy to reach. From the Malitbog town proper, take the main two-lane concrete road heading to Barangay San Luis (see map below). After passing San Luis Crossing, turn right — this road will take you straight to the drop-off point, about 5.5 kilometers from the main road. From there, it’s roughly a 1.7-kilometer trek along the riverbed to reach the falls.

The trail to Bagyangon Falls is easy to follow, with river crossings and bamboo bridges built by locals. It’s a fun and scenic walk surrounded by lush greenery. Just be careful near the falls, as the rocks can be slippery.

You’ll definitely get wet — whether from the mist or from diving into the water — but that’s part of the adventure! If you want to explore something off the beaten path, Bagyangon Falls is a refreshing escape.
