Cagayan de Oro’s chess prodigy Ruelle Canino pulled off a stunning win against sixth-seeded Woman International Master Bach Ngoc Thuy of Vietnam in the ongoing 6th ASEAN Individual Chess Championships – Gov. Henry Oaminal Cup at the Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park in Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental. The victory propelled Canino into a share of the lead after two rounds of the nine-round tournament, where the overall champion will earn an outright Woman Grandmaster (WGM) title.
