CRIME WATCH: Police identify persons of interest in ex-NIA legal researcher slay; ₱100K reward offered for information

The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) has identified several persons of interest in the killing of former National Irrigation Administration (NIA-10) legal researcher Niruh Kyle Antatico, 40, who was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen at Crossing Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, last Friday, October 10. PRO-10 Director Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano declined to provide further details but confirmed that Antatico had received death threats as early as last year. Investigators are now exploring all possible motives, including Antatico’s previous allegations of irregularities in a ₱75-million NIA project.

Meanwhile, NIA Administrator Eduardo Guillen has offered a ₱100,000 reward for information that could help solve the case. Read his Facebook post on Antatico’s killing below.

City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, Congressmen Rufus B Rodriguez, Lordan Suan and Bambi Emano, as well as Archbishop Jose Cabantan have condemned the killing of Antatico.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines and fraternities have earlier issued statements condemning the killing.
