A former employee of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 10 was gunned down by motorcycle-riding assailants at Zone 1, Crossing Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, on Friday, October 10, 2025. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Niruh Kyle Antatico, was a Juris Doctor graduate known for his social media posts exposing alleged corruption within his agency, including overpricing, substandard projects, and irregularities in farmer subsidies—claims that reportedly led to his reassignment. The attack was caught on a rear dashcam, and authorities are investigating whether his exposés were connected to the motive behind the killing.
