A taxi parked near the Bigaan River in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro, was swept away by strong floodwaters on Friday, August 22. A motorcycle was also recovered after being carried off by the current. Viral videos online showed the river’s force caused by heavy rains in the upstream areas. Authorities have always reminded residents to stay cautious near rivers and bridges, especially during heavy rains or sudden floods.
