A livestream video by netizen Joren Guzman showing the raging Bigaan River in Cagayan de Oro has gone viral. The footage captures the river’s powerful flow submerging the temporary bridge connecting Purok 3-A in Gusa to Cugman area, with residents still crossing despite the danger. Interestingly, there was only light rain in this part of the city at that time—the surge came from heavy rainfall upstream in Libona, Bukidnon. The bridge is only a temporary structure, as a permanent one is set to rise under the CDO Eastern Interior Diversion Road project. Heavy equipment at the site belongs to the project contractor.
