“Sidewalk Vendor Ban from Sunday to Thursday” – Klarex
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy is planning to limit sidewalk vending to Fridays and Saturdays only. This follows a CEEBDA operation on August 5, where inaccurate weighing scales were confiscated and destroyed. Mayor Uy said vendors have long been allowed to sell in designated areas but continue to violate rules, occupying pedestrian and traffic lanes, especially around Cogon Market, worsening congestion and disregarding Night Market guidelines.
Motorists were surprised to see the streets around Cogon Market free of traffic and sidewalk vendors at night starting August 1.
