PROJECT WATCH: DENR-EMB-10 sets Public Hearing for 134-hectare SMDC Project in Cagayan de Oro-Manolo Fortich

The DENR-EMB Region 10 has scheduled a public hearing on August 19 at the Mambatangan Gym for the proposed four-phase residential development of SM Development Corporation (SMDC). The project will span 134 hectares across Barangays Puerto and Bugo in Cagayan de Oro City, and Mambatangan in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The development is part of the City Government’s vision for the emerging ‘East Uptown Area’ of Cagayan de Oro.

The public hearing is in relation to SMDC’s application for an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) for their 134-hectare property which will be developed into four phases.

  • Phase 1: 314,141.35 sqm (Gross Area)
  • Phase 2: 283,722.57 sqm
  • Phase 3: 187,660.96 sqm
  • Phase 4: 242,655.70 sqm

Here’s the map and location of SMDC property. It borders Xavier University’s College of Agriculture.

It can be recalled that Barangay Bugo had conducted a public hearing for the same last year.
