The 6.74-kilometer Opol-Canitoan Diversion Road is now nearly fully connected, with only a few remaining sections under construction in the Igpit-Malanang area of Opol. Up next is the application of road markings. Hopefully, streetlights will also be installed soon for improved safety. This four-lane alternate route connects Poblacion, Opol to Canitoan in Cagayan de Oro City, providing motorists with a way to bypass the often-congested intersections in Bulua and Iponan. The road is also designed to include bike lanes on both sides. Photos by TRip ni ToniO.
