Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) thrugh the Manticao Municipal Police Station seized around ₱20 million worth of smuggled Red Delta cigarettes and arrested eight suspects during a dawn operation in Manticao, Misamis Oriental on June 21, 2025. Acting on a tip, police caught the suspects unloading contraband from a fishing vessel at the seawall in Barangay Punta Silum. A follow-up search uncovered more items inside a truck van nearby. About 500 cases of cigarettes, the vessel, and truck were confiscated. The suspects are now in police custody and will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs. Newly-appointed PRO10 chief Regional Director PBGEN Rolindo M. Suguilon praised the swift response, stressing the importance of sustained anti-smuggling operations.
