The long-delayed road opening of Limketkai Road to JR Borja Extension—aimed at easing traffic around Cogon Market—may soon be realized. This comes after the Cagayan de Oro City Council, during its regular session on Monday, April 28, passed separate ordinances allocating funds for the full payment of just compensation to several lot owners in Barangay 35 whose properties will be affected by the project.

ORDINANCE NO. 15093-2025
– An ordinance appropriating the sum of ₱8,923,358.25 from the item: “Non-Office: Economic Services Sector-Special Purpose Fund-Land Acquisition/Expropriation”, in the 2025 Annual Budget to be made available for the full payment of the claim for just compensation including documentation and registration expenses of Lot 7-B (portion of Lot 7, Block 9 (LRC), Psd-138672), covered under Transfer Certificate of Title No. T137-2013003462, owned by Mr. Antonio Gabriel M. La Viña, which was affected by the proposed opening of Limketkai Road Extension from Justo Ramonal Street to J.R. Borja Extension, located in Barangay No. 35, this City; and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to sign the corresponding Deed of Absolute Sale thereof
ORDINANCE NO. 15094-2025
– An ordinance appropriating the sum of ₱1,739,547.17 from the item “Non-Office: Economic Services Sector-Special Purpose Fund-Land Acquisition/Expropriation”, in the 2025 Annual Budget to be made available for the full payment of the claim for just compensation including documentation and registration expenses of Lot 8-A (portion of Lot 8, Block 9 (LRC), Psd-138672), covered under Transfer Certificate of Title No. T-26282, with an area of 90 square meters, owned by Ms. Carmen M. Velez, which was affected by the proposed opening of Limketkai Road extension from Justo Ramonal Street to J.R. Borja Extension, located in Barangay No. 35, this City; and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to sign the corresponding Deed of Absolute Sale thereof

Borja, located in Barangay No. 35, this City; and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to sign the corresponding Deed of Absolute Sale thereof

– An ordinance appropriating the sum of ₱2,453,838.50 from the item: “Non-Office: Economic Services Sector-Special Purpose Fund-Land Acquisition/Expropriation”, in the 2025 Annual Budget to be made available for the full payment of the claim for just compensation including documentation and registration expenses of Lot 5-A (portion of Lot 5, Block 9 (LRC) Psd-138672), covered under Transfer Certificate of Title No. T-22588, and owned by Mr. Rafael Marcelino Ch. Fortich III, portion of which with an area of 127 sq.m. was affected by the proposed opening of Limketkai Road extension from Justo Ramonal Street to J.R. Borja Extension, located in Barangay No. 35, this City; and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to sign the corresponding Deed of Absolute Sale thereof.
