Dr. Justin Luke Yap, a homegrown Pediatric Radiologist from Cagayan de Oro, has contributed as a co-author to Neonatal Ultrasound—a recently published international medical reference book by Springer. The book is a specialized guide on ultrasound imaging in newborns during their first month of life.

Dr. Yap helped wrote the chapter on neonatal brain anatomy, offering insights into how the brain is visualized and assessed through ultrasound. A true Kagay-anon, he began his academic journey at Oro Christian Grace School and later earned his medical degree from Xavier University–Dr. Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine.

He completed his radiology residency at Northern Mindanao Medical Center before advancing to a pediatric radiology fellowship at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, under a scholarship from the World Federation of Pediatric Imaging.
