President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led today’s back-to-back launching of the Rice Processing System II Project, which includes a multi-stage rice mill and four (4) recirculating dryers, and the PhP350-million Integrated Coconut Processing Facility (ICPF) by First Community Cooperative (FICCO), along with turnover of various agricultural interventions to farmers in Misamis Oriental in a ceremony in Barangay San Isidro, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.

The Rice Processing System II Project includes a multi-stage rice mill and four (4) recirculating dryers.

Meanwhile, under the SUnRISE (Solving Unemployment through Rural Industrialization, Sustainable and Enterprise) project, the ICPF promotes the processing of coconut products beyond traditional copra. These include cocopallets/cocoboards, activated carbon, virgin coconut oil/cooking oil, coco flour, skim milk and coco water.

Both are poised to significantly improve farmers’ productivity and efficiency by reducing post-harvest losses, thereby uplifting their livelihood and economic sustainability.
