The Senate Committee on Tourism held a public hearing yesterday, January 28, to discuss a proposed measure designating Misamis Oriental as a tourism development area. Deputy Majority Leader Mark Villar, who presided over the hearing, expressed strong support for House Bill No. 8063, authored by Representatives Yevgeny Vincente Emano, Lordan Suan and Christian Unabia, highlighting the province’s rich cultural heritage and stunning tourist attractions. Senator Villar emphasized the need for adequate support to unlock the area’s full tourism potential and transform it into a thriving destination.
