Today, December 12, 2024 marked a significant milestone for the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) as it witnessed the investiture of Dr. Jestoni P. Babia as its first-ever college president. The momentous event was attended by key City Hall officials and staff, CCCDO students, representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED-10) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), as well as guests members of Dr. Babia’s family.
The investiture program symbolizes Dr. Babia’s acceptance of the responsibilities and authority to lead, manage, and develop the city’s first-ever college. The institution aims to provide free and quality education to the youth of the city.
Dr. Babia, whose expertise and leadership have been proven in other prestigious institutions in the country, expressed his heartfelt acceptance of the role entrusted to him by Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy. He also committed to diligently advance the college’s mission.
During the ceremony, Dr. Babia received the Presidential Medallion and Mace, symbols of his authority and responsibility as CCCDO’s leader.
City Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Chairperson of the Committee on Education of the 20th City Council, graced the occasion, representing Mayor Klarex Uy. City Administrator Roy Raagas, Executive Director of the Local School Board Dr. Alicia Anghay, and other distinguished guests were also present.
