The Opol Port located in Barangay Luyong Bonbon in Opol, Misamis Oriental is set to undergo a P732.767 million expansion. The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is bidding the port project which involves demolition, removal and excavation works, as well as the upgrading of berthing facility, Phases 1 and 2. The entire project is expected to be completed in 720 calendar days. A pre-bid conference on the project is set on October 4.

Last year, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) awarded a 15-year concession contract to the joint venture (JV) of GlobalPort Terminals, Inc. (GTI) and Globalport (GP) Ozamiz Terminal, Inc. to manage the cargo-handling and other port-related services at Opol Port including berthside operations, stevedoring service, storage management, waste and shore facility management, among others.
