Kate Mantawel of Cedric Cumlat Memorial Institute in Valencia City, Bukidnon clocked 10 minutes 39.59 seconds to rule the 2,000-meter walk for the 6th gold medal for Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City. What was amazing is that Mantawel overtook an athlete from the National Capital Region only in the final 20 meters for the win. NMRAA now has 6 golds, 10 silvers and 17 bronze medals.
