Limketkai Sons Inc. pays it forward with a gift giving activity to benefit local communities

The family company behind CDO homegrown mall Limketkal Center honors the philanthropic legacies of Don Lim Ket Kal and Doña Rosario Limketkal through a community-based outreach program.

Limketkai Sons Inc. (LKKS), one of the region’s leading real estate developers and the company behind CDO’s homegrown mall Limketkai Center, kickstarts a gift-giving and worship activity to benefit Barangay 31, Barangay 35, and Lapasan on July 1.

The program called “Bless the Community honors the legacies of the late Don Lim Ket Kal and Doña Rosario Limketkal, who built Limketkal Manufacturing Corporation (LMC), LKKS, and many other sister companies from a small agri-manufacturing business in the 1920s.

Acknowledging the role of the community in the success of its 40-hectare commercial and business district Limkelkal Center over the years, LKKS is giving back to its surrounding local populations.

The initial rollout will give 3,000 members of these communities basic food necessity packs, which include one of LMC’s flagship products, Marca Leon cooking oil.

Enriching the soul

Beyond in-kind gifts, “Bless the Community” is also centered around the enrichment of the soul through the Gospel. LKKS partnered with Victory Christian Fellowship and Christ’s Commission Fellowship for mass services, which will be held at Limketkal Center Atrium on the day of the gift-giving activity.

“We believe that food is not the only source of enrichment of the soul but most especially the quality of each individual’s emotional and spiritual state,” said Alfonso Lim, Chairman and President of Limketkai Development Corporation (LDC). “We are working together with our religious partners in this endeavor because one major goal of this outreach is to spread the Gospel to communities as well.”

Earlier in May, LKKS made a call for donation and set up drop off points at Limketkal Center for in-kind donations. Donors of “Bless the Community included Limketkai Development Corporation, Luxe Hotel, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Christ’s Commission Fellowship, and Victory Christian Fellowship.

LKKS also worked closely with Sanguniang Barangays from Barangay 31, Barangay 35, and Lapasan for this gift-giving program.

“Bless the Community is just the beginning of the LKKS’ efforts to pay it forward to the community through different programs and partnerships with relevant stakeholders in Cagayan de Oro and in the region.
