The PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority has announced it will be clearing several areas within its property in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental for its planned port and container yard expansion and reclamation project with the reclaimed areas to be reserved for industry locators and investors. The clearing will affect residents in Barangays Casinglot, Sugbongcogon, Gracia, Sta. Cruz, Mohon, Poblacion, and Sta. Ana. PHIVIDEC recently broke ground 4PH housing project which consists of 12-storey condominium-type housing units for residents affected by the project. Discussions on the resettlement plan is still ongoing.

Operated by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc., the MCT has a capacity of 270,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) and handles both domestic and international cargoes with routes to South Korea, Kota Kinabalu, China, Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
