PROJECT WATCH: Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road (Gusa Section) to have first bridge component near Villa Ernesto

The continuation of the construction of the Gusa Section of the Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road Extension is set to begin soon with the start of the procurement process for the P158.26 million project under Contract ID 24K00145 which also includes the Puntod Roundabout (Rotunda) Project we earlier posted. Covered by this latest funding is the construction of a gravel road up to 800 meters from the junction of the existing coastal road but with a gap of 279.5 meters where a 100-meter bridge is proposed. This is just across the seawall of Villa Ernesto Subdivision Phase 2. The bridge component is not yet included under Contract ID 24K00145.

Here’s an illustration of the project. The project starts at Sta 0 + 155m (155 meters from the junction of the existing Coastal Road). Then it stops at 30 meters (Sta 0 + 185m). There will be a gap of 279.5 meters before the project continues at Sta 0 + 464.5m and ends at Sta 0 + 800m just before the mouth of Bigaan River. Within this gap is an ongoing PCCP project and a proposed 100-meter bridge. Most likely, there will be another bridge to span Bigaan River.

Check out some slides of DPWH-10.

As shown, the contract included the Puntod Roundabout.
