Years ago, there were plans for a rotunda at the Puntod side of the Puntod-Kauswagan Bridge aimed to enhance traffic flow in the area upon the bridge’s completion. Years have passed but the rotunda never materialized. However, with the recent inauguration of the River Boulevard and its impending opening to traffic, the necessity for this rotunda is now apparent. Will government authorities finally implement this?
The procurement process for the Puntod Rotunda (roundabout) has just started with the pre-bidding conference held Friday, March 8, 2024. The project 24K00145 has two components: Flaring of Intersections (Rotunda) and Construction of Gravel Road (Coastal Road at Gusa). Project cost is P158.26 Million.
The roundabout has a diameter of 38 meters.
