The local government of Barangay Bugo in Cagayan de Oro City has taken a proactive step by installing surveillance cameras at the pedestrian overpass near Del Monte Cannery, particularly during rush hours from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The primary objective is to monitor and address the heavy traffic in the area.
During the initial monitoring period, the cameras captured instances where some cannery workers chose not to use the designated overpass when crossing the highway. Accordingly, these documented incidents will be forwarded to the factory management for appropriate action and awareness.
In addition to pedestrian-related concerns, it was also observed that several tricabs or bao-baos were parking along the highway, contributing to the congestion in the vicinity.

Just a few days ago, personnel of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) issued citation tickets to illegally parked vehicles across the cannery.
