Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy recently ordered a crackdown on illegal parking in the city’s streets. Along this line, a concerned netizen shared photos of a truck unlawfully parked along the sidewalk adjacent to Pabayo-Cruz Taal Streets near Divisoria. Despite the presence of a “No Parking” sign in the vicinity, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) has allegedly overlooked this violation for several days, allowing the truck to occupy the space during weekdays. This has resulted in pedestrians diverting onto the street due to the obstructed sidewalk, creating potential hazards.
Mayor Klarex’s order to the RTA came after receiving reports that the streets are being converted into ‘garages’ by some vehicle owners, particularly owners and operators of large trucks.
