The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will be completing P1 trillion worth of regional airport projects including enhancement of Ozamiz Airport. This was disclosed by Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista who stated that the said projects will address needs for air connectivity.
Shown below is the current Passenger Terminal Building of Ozamiz Airport.
It can be recalled that a new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) Project worth P210 million was awarded to R-II Builders Inc. last March 2022.
The notice of award came after two failed biddings in 2021.
It is part of the Ozamiz Airport Modernization Project which included a new apron and fence, construction of new passenger terminal building, improvement of the runway strip, and the expansion and asphalt overlay of the runway. The new PTB will be located on the other end of the runway as shown below.
Then President Rodrigo Duterte even led the ground breaking ceremony last 2018.
However, the project did not take off. Only a portion of the new taxiway was completed as shown below.

Previous information revealed that the new PTB will increase the annual capacity of the airport from 300,000 to 1.5 million.
