While the citizenry celebrated the New Year in their homes and in the streets, thieves broke into Gaisano Capital Ozamiz, ransacked jewelry shops inside and an ATM before carting away with millions worth of jewelry and undetermined amount of cash. The crime was discovered at around 11:00am today, January 1, 2024 just an hour before the scheduled opening. Instead, the store remained closed for the whole day while police investigation is ongoing. Browse photos below.
A large hole was found at the food court section.



Thieves broke this glass wall to break into a jewelry shop.





The safety vault was forcibly opened.

The suspects also ransacked this jewelry shop including its vault.




Meanwhile, an ATM inside Gaisano was also forcibly opened.



Police are also determining if the suspects entered the mall through this drainage manhole.


As of posting time, the store remained closed while police continued with the investigation.
