Isagani Calio, a painter hailing from Jimenez, Misamis Occidental distinguished himself among numerous artists by securing a spot in the Top 15 of the recently concluded 1st Sentro Artista – Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Nationwide Art Competition. The 26-year old Calio was the only Mindanaoan who made the final 15. His artwork titled “Uhaw,” finished in 14th Place from over 1,000 entries in the competition centered around the theme “Hindi Umuurong sa Pagtulong”. He was honored with a special citation during the awarding ceremony held on November 10, 2023, at Greenhills Mall in San Juan City.
See below his entry “Uhaw”, a 3’x4′ oil on canvas painting.
The winning artworks are now on exhibit at the Sentro Artista Art Hub in Quezon City.
