PROJECT WATCH: Proposed Cagayan de Oro Light Rail Transit Tracks and Stations

Outlined in the city’s Transport Master Plan, here are the tracks and stations proposed for the Cagayan de Oro Light Rail Transit (LRT) System. The initial phase consists of a loop track in the central business district of the downtown area, while the subsequent phase expands the track to Bulua in the west and Gusa in the east. It’s important to note that these plans remain subject to potential changes pending the feasibility study by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), slated to begin next year.

This is the proposed track and stations of LRT-1 which is a loop system of the city’s main downtown area. Identified stations are as follows:

  • Puntod-Macabalan-PPA
  • Lapasan-Agora
  • CM Recto-Valenzuela
  • Limketkai Drive
  • JR Borja-Luminarias
  • JR Borja-Cogon
  • JR Borja-Corrales
  • JR Borja-Burgos
  • Max Suniel-Carmen Mkt
  • Vamenta-SSS
  • RN Pelaez-Savemore
  • RN Pelaez-San Nicolas
  • Consolacion

Meanwhile, LRT-2 is a track from Bulua Public Market towards Gusa Galaxy area. Accordingly, extending it further east is also a possibility. Identified stations are as follows:

  • Bulua Mkt Terminal
  • Saarenas-Bulua
  • Max Suniel-Villarin
  • Max Suniel-Carmen Mkt
  • JR Borja-Burgos
  • JR Borja-Corrales
  • JR Borja-Cogon
  • JR Borja-Luminarias
  • JR Borja-Canossian
  • JR Borja-Petron
  • JR Borja-Galaxy

Here’s the combination of LRT-1 and LRT-2 with 5 common stations as follows:

  • Max Suniel-Carmen Mkt
  • JR Borja-Burgos
  • JR Borja-Corrales
  • JR Borja-Cogon
  • JR Borja-Luminarias

This was presented by Ms Avalyn Cahulogan a few months back.

We look forward to the FS by the DOTr next year.
