Misamis Oriental’s Oolong Tea from Kalagonoy, Gingoog City was named Grand Winner as Best Food Souvenir in the Pearl Awards 2023, one of the highlights of the 24th Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) National Convention held October 4-6 in Boracay. Additionally, the province was also recognized as having the Most Outstanding Tourism Officers Association. In total, Misamis Oriental earned an impressive 7 awards.
The awards are as follows:
- Most Outstanding Tourism Officers Association, Grand Winner/Citation;
- Best Food Souvenir, Grand Winner;
- Best Promotional Video, First Runner-Up;
- Best Hosting of a Local Event, First Runner-Up;
- Best Tourism Week Celebration, Second Runner-Up;
- Best Tourism Oriented PLGU, Second Runner-Up; and
- Best Cultural Festival Event, Finalist
