Elements of the Valencia City Police Station quickly responded to a reported kidnapping incident in Davao City last September 6-7 by intercepting a silver-gray Toyota Hi-ace van with license plate number ZCX-2977 at BYB Gas Station in Brgy. Batangan, Valencia City, Bukidnon yesterday, September 8 and arrested two alleged kidnapping suspects. Onboard the van were the three alleged kidnapping victims.

In a press release, the two suspects were identified as Renie Labaho Endroga, 30 years old, a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Hamugaway, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, and Nelson Mantuhac Capangpangan, 55, a resident of Purok 19, Barangay Poblacion, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.



Onboard the van were the alleged kidnapping victims, all with their hands tied with nylon rope, identified as: Rodrigo Rosello Mangyao, a 61-year-old male caretaker, from Purok 72, Bucana, Davao City, allegedly kidnapped around 2:00 PM on September 6, 2023, on San Pedro St., Davao City; Samuel Mabilao Logan Jr., a 33-year-old farmer residing in Lower Kibalang, Marilog, Davao del Sur, allegedly kidnapped at approximately 8:00 AM on September 7, 2023 at the entrance of Magsaysay Park, Magsaysay St., Davao City; and Jovanne Katahosan Layuan, a 28-year-old male farmer from Purok 12, South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon, allegedly kidnapped around 11:00 AM on September 7, 2023, at Crossing Ulas, Barangay Ulas, Davao City.
Initial reports revealed the suspects reportedly bought gold from the victims but found out the gold was fake so they decided to abduct them in a bid to recover their money. Both the arrested suspects and the victims are now in police custody for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 10 Regional Director PBGen Lawrence B. Coop lauded the cops for the prompt action in response to the kidnapping incident.He also urged the public to remain vigilant in their surroundings and promptly report any unusual activity to the authorities.
