The Cagayan de Oro Stampede nearly pulled off an upset over the Zamboanga Valientes powered by ex-NBA players Mario Chalmers and Renaldo Balkman, but lost steam in the final canto, 83-87, in the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Open Championship at the Zamboanga City Colisuem last night, February 21. The Stampede led 70-58 before James Kwuketeye scored 13 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter to lead the hosts’ rally. Jun Daanoy led the Stampede with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
