RANDOM SHOTS: 1,693 live cattle from Australia arrive in CDO to boost local dairy industry

A total of 1,693 live cattle from Australia arrived at the Port of Cagayan de Oro aboard MV Brahman Express at 6 a.m. on October 18, 2026, to support the expansion of the Philippines’ local dairy industry. Representatives from the Department of Agriculture, National Dairy Authority, Bureau of Quarantine, Bureau of Customs, and Oroport Cargo Handling Services coordinated the unloading and handling of the animals. The shipment is expected to boost the local dairy cattle population and milk production while reducing dependence on imported dairy products. The vessel was scheduled to stay at the port for 24 hours before sailing to Subic.
