Cagayan de Oro has overtaken Davao as the city with the largest hotel pipeline in Mindanao, with 1,293 rooms (keys) in the pipeline compared with Davao’s 655, according to the 2026 Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report released on September 25, 2026. The report also noted that Cagayan de Oro is welcoming its first branded residences, developments that were not yet evident in the city’s hospitality landscape two years ago. The report, prepared by the Philippine Hotel Owners Association Inc. (PHOA) in partnership with Leechiu Property Consultants, combines survey responses from more than 50 developers and hotel operators, over 80 on-site inspections nationwide, and direct interviews with key stakeholders from the government and hospitality sectors. The data reflects information gathered through August 2026.
