Not just students, but future healthcare professionals in action: Five third-year midwifery students from the Misamis Oriental Institute of Science and Technology (MOIST) in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, rushed to aid victims of a vehicular accident in Tagoloan on the evening of September 10. Tasha Padon, Jewel Olis Solito, Jocymae Taborada, Rey Tiffany Oliveros Apinan, and Daisy Joy Abelidas had just completed their clinical duty at Rever Medical Center and were waiting for transportation home at around 7:00 p.m. when they witnessed the accident. Drawing from their clinical training, the five immediately responded and assisted the victims while emergency help was being arranged. Their quick response demonstrates not only their skills and training as future midwives but also their compassion and willingness to serve in an emergency.
