A 39-year-old incumbent Barangay Kagawad of Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental identified as “Jigo” was arrested in a joint drug buy-bust operation in the same area at 3:48 PM on September 11, 2026. Police seized four sachets of suspected shabu weighing about five grams and valued at ₱34,000, along with other evidence including one blue canister and one PhP500.00 bill used as buy-bust money. The suspect, reportedly a first-time offender, is now under the custody of Opol Municipal Police Station and faces charges under Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Police are conducting further investigation into his alleged involvement and whether his position was used to facilitate the illegal activity.
