Have you been to The Heritage House Cafe in Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City? Opened by 2025 Kumbira Chef Master Champion Judie Mae Pacana and 2025 Kumbira Silver Awardee Celeste Anne Monsanto, the cafe has transformed the historic Pacana ancestral house into a cozy place to dine, enjoy coffee, or simply relax. Their specialties include Smoked Pulled Angus Beef, 16-Hour Smoked Beef, Smoked Chicken, Smoked Fish, and Smoked Beef Sausage, along with burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and a variety of hot and cold drinks, including coffee. The cafe is open Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
GETTING THERE: From RN Pelaez Boulevard in Kauswagan, turn right onto John the Baptist Street (near Botoy’s). Continue for about 175 meters. The Heritage House Cafe is on the left side, directly across San Isidro Chapel. See the map below.
It has a fairly large lawn for outdoor dining.
Based on the Historical Landmark posted onsite, the site is the original roman catholic community of san isidro labrador in 1930.
The cafe opened on May 18.
Old framed photographs showcasing the family’s history are displayed throughout the cafe.
It was an afternoon so we tried the angus beef burger.
